Amazing outdoor activities and a great view.

Moved here in the summer from one of the hottest places on earth and my quality of life has gone up dramatically. I can walk outside, there are enormous mountains to hike, there are bike lanes and bike paths everywhere, and all of this with amazing mountain views and no fear of heat stroke!
The people are far nicer than in my last city and there is far less traffic, though it can sometimes get a little rough during rush hour.
I live in the north and I only rarely go downtown, so I don't have any personal experience with the crime rates that other people have mentioned. Anecdotally, I haven't even heard any police sirens since I've been here, which is a massive change from multiple times a night at my old house.
Politically, the majority of the city is red leaning but downtown seems a bit more purple or maybe even blue. It's not a particularly strong lean in either direction from what I've seen, no matter where you are in the city. Overall, it's probably about 55/45 con/lib split within the proper city limits, inverted to 45/55 downtown, and then more like a 60/40 split in the GCS metro area as a whole. A mixed bag of ideological backgrounds for sure.
